History
Founded in 1984 by Ralph Girkins, Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment has always been committed to being the number one supplier of tube, pipe, and roll form machinery. We offer one of the largest in-stock inventories of tube mills, high-frequency welders, cut-offs, re-cut systems, rollformers, coil handling machinery and more.  Machinery can be sold as-is or our team can recondition, replace gearboxes, add new electrics, integrate machinery into production lines and much more. Custom tube mill or rollform lines can be created using machinery from our inventory and/or new machinery manufactured by UCG and ERWTech.  Send us a drawing of the shape you need to fabricate, and we will assemble a complete line quotation to produce the part you need.

Expansions
In 2005 Ken Metzger, Ralph Girkins, and Laura Smirin formed Universal Controls Group (UCG) to offer customers more options when buying machinery. UCG builds new control panels, drive systems, die accelerators and was located in the same facility as Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment. Working together enabled us to offer a wide array of cost-efficient services that set us apart from other dealers. In 2020 Universal Controls Group (UCG) acquired Universal Tube & Rollform Equipment to combine both into one great team.  Our product and service capabilities will continuously grow to serve the requirements of our ever-growing and diverse customer base.

UCG developed the U-TRAK, a revolutionary closed-loop length control system that blends hi-tech electronics and simple mechanics to provide an accurate, rugged and low-cost solution to your flying cut-off length control needs. Many U-Traks are installed and running all across the United States and are a great way to upgrade your tube mill or rollforming line.

During 2016 UCG formed a technical partnership with ERWTech of Turkey to offer manufacturers in North and South America quality-built and affordable new tube and pipe machinery. New machinery manufactured by ERWTech and UCG is reliable, economical and fully supported by our team out of Northwest Ohio.  Complete lines are available with new entry system, rolling mill, high-frequency welder, high-speed flying saw and packing system. New ERWTech/UCG tube mills are used across many industries including metal building products, carports, automotive, agricultural, aerospace, office furniture, shelving and much more.

New machinery is tested by our team before shipping to ensure a quick and easy start-up. We recommend using our experienced team for start-up & commissioning as well as maintenance training. Common replacement parts and after-sale services are also available out of our NW Ohio warehouse.
