Description
The 994 kW induction generators mount at a 45-degree angle above the axial-flow turbines which are fed through penstocks. The turbine flow is controlled by a large butterfly gate. The turbine flow rate and power output is controlled by Kaplan type variable pitch blades. The guide vanes are fixed. The power from the turbine passes through a gear box and into the high speed genererator. This equipment was lightly used when it was installed and is now stored at our Greensboro, NC yard.
