We wonder how many people there are like ourselves who listen to good radio programs regularly, but never write a line of appreciation to the sponsors.
Of course, we probably buy and use 50% of these radio advertised products. We drive Chrysler built automobiles, on Goodrich tires, and usually fill up with Texaco. Our kid keeps us up with the latest in muscle building cereals. We have a bottle of Sal Hepatica in the medicine cabinet—burn Standard oil in our furnace, feed Red Heart to the pup! But these are the only signs of appreciation for these radio entertainments. After all, buying the product is the better testimonial, but sometimes we wonder if we are not all too busy, or take too much for granted.
Which leads us up to the point. The other day we received a letter from the purchasing agent of a firm in Cleveland. Our Buyer’s Service Bureau had helped him in locating a couple of machines. He said, “We want to take this opportunity to thank you for the immediate attention you gave our letter, and for the wonderful response that we received from the different companies that had these machines available. Needless to say, we have located the desired machinery.”
Letters of this kind are always appreciated, and spur one on to greater efforts. During the course of a year, our Buyer’s Service Bureau forwards hundreds of inquiries for used machinery to SURPLUS RECORD advertisers. This service is free to our subscribers, and everyone is welcome to use it to the fullest extent.
