Description
The Gettys Manufacturing Co. 66-0139-00 is an SCR servo drive assembly built by Gettys Manufacturing Co. of Racine, Wisconsin, USA. The nameplate identifies the part number as 66-0139-00 with Type A00330 and includes the serial revision marking 1721OM. This assembly is configured as a complete servo drive panel mounted on a wooden backplane, with the main control PCB, three SCR thyristor stacks with finned heat sinks, three pulse transformers, a finned aluminum heat sink bank, and an integrated contactor assembly.
Gettys SCR servo drives of this generation were widely deployed as axis drives on CNC machining centers, lathes, and turning centers produced by Cincinnati Milacron, Giddings and Lewis, Monarch, Bendix, and other OEMs during the 1970s and 1980s. The 66 series and related 11 series Gettys drives are designed to operate with Gettys, Gould, AEG, and Modicon branded permanent magnet DC and brushless servo motors, using resolver or tachometer feedback for closed loop velocity control.
Construction features include screw terminal field wiring, pin headers for low voltage signals, soldered through hole components, and an open frame layout intended for cabinet mounting. The contactor section provides motor armature switching. Heat sinking is sized for continuous duty SCR operation at standard line voltages.
Gettys was acquired by Ellwood Corporation in 2001, and legacy 66 and 11 series SCR drives are commonly sourced as surplus or remanufactured units to support older legacy CNC and industrial automation equipment that remains in production service. Suitable for installation as a spare, rebuild core, or service replacement on equipment still running on Gettys drive electronics.
