Description
A GEC Durham Industries Astra Type AB21 instrument current transformer with a 200:5A ratio, catalog number 105KP. The unit carries serial number 2521A7A and is rated for 60 Hertz operation. Original certified test record documentation from GEC Durham Industries (Dartmouth, MA) accompanies the unit, showing recorded ratio correction factor and phase angle data at 10 percent and 100 percent burden loading. Tested at 60 Hertz per manufacturer final inspection records.
The Astra AB series is a window type current transformer used in switchgear, metering panels, and protective relaying applications. The 200:5A turns ratio converts a primary current of up to 200 amperes into a proportional 5 ampere secondary output suitable for connection to ammeters, watt hour meters, power meters, and protective relays. The window construction allows the primary conductor to pass through the transformer aperture, eliminating the need to interrupt the primary circuit during installation.
Stock number 9200 4481 and purchase order number 093914 are noted on the original packaging. The unit appears in original packaging with mounting hardware and bracket visible. Constructed for 600 VAC class service typical of the Astra AB type series.
GEC Durham Industries instrument transformers are commonly specified for utility metering, industrial power distribution, marine and shipboard switchgear, and OEM panel building applications. Cross reference to the current GEC Durham catalog may be applicable for replacement sourcing, as the Astra brand has been continuously produced under GEC Durham Industries.
