“This Bliss 60 ton punch press, (Straight Side, Dbl. Crank) about 60 tons, runs beautifully.The plant just moved and changed product lines. The machine has been recently fully guarded and approved for continuous production by OSHA !. (See story below) . This press was punching 8 precision holes per blow, about 60 SPM, in steel strip making high quality cupro-nickel and SS heat exchangers. (See pics of tubes below) The press was retrofitted with a hydraulic automatic feed that advanced the strip but we just found out the plant is keeping the feed mechanism and the punches for possible future use. What is for sale is the press without the feed conveyor that you see in the photo. The machine is in the state of New York.”

NOTES: This famous brand press is equipped and retrofitting for current production and is fully equipped with galvanized, steel mesh and channel OSHA approved guards. Indeed the inspectors from OSHA were so impressed, they took photos to show other shops “how-to” !
As a general purpose stamping and blanking press, this machine was mainly used for punching up to 8 simultaneous 1-1/8″ holes in 1/8 steel strip automatically continuous strip fed. They were making tube-type heat exchangers. The press punched out the tube sheets.

The owner equipped it with pin-locating, automatic hydraulic strip feed, for the mfrg. of high quality, heat-extraction, heat exchangers of primarily cupro-nickel and stainless steel tubing, for the heating and process steam. The owner is keeping the automatic strip feeder for his possible future use. The company had to downsize, and closed down operations temporarily; but they are hope to be changing to other products lines. Full instructions as to how the press operated and is maintained are available. This press was running up to the day they started the move.
