Low voltage fuses are rated 600 volts and below and protect the branch circuits, feeders, motors, and control equipment found in most industrial and commercial power systems. This category includes the common UL fuse classes such as Class J, RK1, RK5, L, T, CC, and G, along with semiconductor (high-speed) and plug fuses, in ratings from a fraction of an amp up to 6,000 amps. They are used throughout panelboards, disconnects, motor control centers, and drive systems to guard against overloads and short circuits, with time-delay versions suited to motor loads and fast-acting versions protecting sensitive electronics and semiconductors.
