Slotting Machines

Slotting machines are reciprocating machines that remove surface material from a workpiece and create shapes and features such as grooves and splines. The workpiece is held in place on the work table of the slotting machine by mechanical restraints and advanced into the path of a single-point cutting tool mounted on a reciprocating ram. Ideal for workpieces that are relatively soft in composition, slotting machines are a great alternative to broaching machines when a workpiece cannot be adequately accommodated for broaching.
