Operating Description:
Each tape pad mounts on an arbor with a backup plate and is secured by a
threaded knob with a transparent Clamp Disc.
Each pad is driven by an AC drive and has an accumulator-dancer arm control.
The first tape goes through the accumulator-dancer arm, into a cutting
station and then in between the splicing blocks, through a pinch roller,
around the driven capstan, into the capstan dancer, over an exit roller,
on to the redirection rollers and then into to customer's-supplied folding
device. The second tape goes through the accumulator-dancer arm, through a
cutting station and then on to the splicing blocks. Once there it must be
prepared by the operator for the automatic crossover. When an automatic or
manual signal for crossover is sent, the new tape is adhered to the
running tape, and the running tape is cut.
