Galvanized steel enclosure finished Munsell No. 7GY-3.29/1.5 Padmount Green. Enclosure is designed per applicable sections of ANSI/IEEE C37.74 and ANSI C57.12.28. Drawing is typical and shows overall dimensions only. Construction details may vary from those depicted.
Switch is equipped with 500:1 internal current transformers on ways 3 & 4.
Switch is equipped with a low pressure warning device (LPWD). The output of the LPWD is wired to the control.
Switch equipped with internal position indication on ways 1 and 2. Internal position indication is for use by the motor control. Switch equipped with motor operators on ways 1 and 2. Motor operators can be disconnected from the switch mechanism for manual switch operation. The motor operators are equipped with a hardwired cable that is cut to an appropriate length and pre-terminated in the control.
Ways 1 & 2 include 3-position (closed, open and ground) switches equipped with motor actuators to operate the switch to the open or closed position. The motor must be decoupled from the switch mechanism and manually thrown into the ground position.
Loadbreak mechanisms on ways 1 and 2 are each equipped with one auxiliary Form C contact per switch position (open, closed, and ground). The contacts are wired to the control cabinet for customer use.
Vacuum interrupter mechanisms on ways 3 and 4 are equipped with one auxiliary Form C contact. The contacts are wired to the control cabinet for use by the control. Each Form C contact can be wired as a 52A or 52B.
Switch includes one stationary motor control for ways 1 and 2 using two SEL (MOT: 751002BIBIBIBILIAG20) relays. Each control is equipped with dual 120VAC inputs and battery backup and mild steel NEMA 4 enclosure. The control provides three-phase overcurrent protection (50P, 50G, 51P, 51G) for ways 3 and 4 utilizing the internal 500:1 CTs. Control provides voltage sensing for ways 1 and 2 utilizing the voltage sensing bushings. Each relay includes two 10/100BASE-FX MM LC Ethernet connectors. Control includes instruction manual GW1523-455 and CD with programming.
The switch is equipped with one ABB Type VIZ-II PT mounted within the switch tank. The PT is designed for use on a 2400V phase-to-ground system and has a 20:1 ratio with a 1500VA output, and is ABB part number 7525A68655. The PT primary is factory connected between phase B and ground as shown on the 3-line diagram. The PT 120VAC phase-to-ground secondary is factory connected to the control cabinet.
In accordance with ANSI C57.13, switches equipped with PT mounted within the switch tank are not to be energized above the nameplate ratings or subject to DC voltage testing. In addition, the AC 1-minute withstand test voltage is decreased to the PT design voltage of 4160V.
When elbows, inserts, and any other accessories are connected to the switch, the ratings of each connected assembly will be that of the lowest rated component of the assembly.
Switch is equipped with voltage sensing bushings on ways 1 & 2. The bushings are connected to the low-energy analog inputs on the relay using shielded twisted-pair cable. The sensors have been factory calibrated and ratio correction factors for programming the relay are located in the control cabinet. Refer to the control instructions for entering the calibration information. See label included with control for RCF values and equivalent PT ratio.
Voltage sensing designed to work on systems with nominal primary voltages between 1.2–4.6 kV phase to ground. Maximum output of voltage sensing is 8 VAC with a 1250:1 ratio.
Mounting Information: The frame of the switch must be anchored to the pad. The frame is equipped with (4) slotted anchoring holes, each measuring 9/16" × 1". The locations of these holes, referred to as "frame mounting," are shown in the front view and section A-A view. The pad mount enclosure should be secured to the pad to provide it with additional stability. Each pad mount enclosure is shipped with 4 securing brackets that are to be used for this purpose. The securing brackets can be installed anywhere along the inner edge of the enclosure. See enclosure mounting detail "A" and the plan view for more details about securing the pad mount enclosure to the pad.
