This is an industrial high temperature furnace. It was used to sinter copper powder parts in Nitrogen protective atmosphere at 960 deg C. Insulation is in very good condition suitable for 1600 deg C operation. The heating elements are Molybdenum Disilicide type MD-31 . The Temperature Control System has been adapted to powder metal processing. To operate the system at higher temperature (1600 deg C) control panel has to be modified. The furnace has been teaken out of service about 4 years ago and is located in storage.
