Industrial relays (also known as control relays, ice cube relays, time delay relays, safety relays, and solid state relays or SSRs) are electrically operated switches that let a low-power control signal open or close a separate circuit in a machine or control panel. Time delay relays add on-delay or off-delay timing, and safety relays monitor e-stops, guard doors, and light curtains to shut equipment down safely. Solid state relays switch loads with no moving contacts. They are found in control cabinets across manufacturing, packaging, HVAC, material handling, and process industries.
